Yesterday, I shared the recipe for tequila lime shrimp. Since you only use 1/2 a cup of tequila, you’ll have plenty left over.
I buy a medium priced, silver or blanco tequila. For a 750ml bottle I don’t spend more than $20. You could use a gold tequila like regular Jose Cuervo if you want, but I like the taste of the clear tequila better. I usually buy something like Sauza Hornitos Plata.
My margarita recipe is VERY simple and uses just a couple fresh ingredients.
MARGARITAS ( 2 servings)
1 medium-sized lime
2 oz tequila
splenda or agave nectar
water
ice
Fill a tall glass with ice. Cut lime in half and squeeze juice from both halves into the glass. Add tequila and either 1 packet of splenda or 1 tbsp of agave nectar. Fill the rest of the glass up with water and stir. Taste and add additional sweetener if you prefer a less tart drink.
At this point, I suppose you could divide the recipe between 2 other smaller glasses with salt on the rims. But that’s not really how I roll. This way means you don’t have to fix a new drink as often.
Enjoy!
Finally you are not wreck good tequila with that shrimp.
Yum. I add Contreau to mine … delish!
That does sound yummy! If I have an orange I’ll squeeze some in there too.
