One thing I’ve consistently read in wedding books, blogs and magazines is that brides & grooms can easily get taken advantage of, because planning is a once in a lifetime event (ideally). I would say I have an above average knowledge of event planning, so I know all the hours that go into planning and coordinating a quality event. I know that professionals are not just coordinating my event.
The issue I’m running into now that I’m planning a wedding is communication. I want to pay someone to use a room for a few hours. I want to pay someone else to host a meal for family and friends. I want to pay someone to take some pictures. While I understand businesses and individuals are busy, and maybe even booked already for the date I’m looking at, I’d think they would want to maintain their reputation. They may even be busy because they have a lot of events going on. I’m ok with that, and understand. But, is it too much to expect someone to follow up with you within one week of your request to them? How much time is appropriate to wait before I follow up? Before I give up? What do you think?
24 hours no more no less. Stick to your guns they need your business & it is your party.
You’re probably right. If they were interested in my business, they’d be responding more quickly. I’m moving on!
