I haven’t written in a few days, but ya know, there was a hurricane evacuation. It’s my excuse for things this week. Luckily nothing major happened in our neck of the woods, but there are still 4, give or take a few, hurricanes/tropical storms/dangerous unknowns out there in the ocean.
I’m with Bailey, there certainly are pros and cons. I too enjoy the paid days off work (one on August, one in September this year so far.) The grocery situation stinks though. I really only seriously grocery shop about once a month or once every 6 weeks. So naturally this time, the evacuation came at at time when the fridge had been recently stocked. Luckily, I was heading to my parents house, about 2 hours west and was able to salvage all the things I wanted to keep. Fortunately though, THE BIG ONE (aka Rita) taught me not to leave food (particularly meat) in the fridge and freezer when you leave, just in case you don’t come back for a while and the power is out for an extended amount of time. I’m happy I came back to a place that probably didn’t even lose power.
Anywho, I hope to get back to semi-regularly scheduled posting next week.
Glad that Gustav wasn’t as horrible as predicted 🙂
